In the final of the 102nd National High School Soccer Championship, Oita Prefecture Tournament, held on Sunday, November 19, 2023, Yanagigaura High School's soccer team took the lead in the 17th minute of the first half with a header from forward Sone Torataro (3rd year, from Kanda Town Niitsu Junior High School). Although the score was later tied, 9 minutes into the second half, Hashimoto's header from a corner kick was deflected by the goalkeeper, allowing defender Tonozono (2nd year, from Nakatsu Municipal Toyoyo Junior High School), who was in front of the goal, to take a shot. The team tenaciously defended the lead until time expired, achieving a stunning victory over the powerful Oita High School team and securing their second appearance in the national tournament in 18 years.

 We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our opponent, Oita High School, all those involved in organizing this tournament, and everyone who supported Yanagigaura High School.
